Shakespeare's popularity has continued due to many reasons. Firstly his use of English language has influenced the modern language greatly. He invented many words and also used the existing language exceptionally well. He use of language affects his characters as he gives them good and bad sides and complex emotions. The depth that he delves into the characters is incredible and makes the characters appear as if real. These facts about his work make them appealing to today's world as they address today's issues and issues.
Characters and How They are Seen His ideas on human nature and address of the harsh truth of human behavior is appealing to people today in most age groups. He questions and explores human nature and what they believe in. The characters in his play are all realistic and their desires are understandable by everyone. He has a deep understanding of human nature and knows how to make people laugh, cry and think. His use of language has been embedded into the English language and the new vocabulary he created are now actual English words. Such a playwright would be hard to forget when he has changed the English language. There are many reasons as to why people believe he is popular. Some believe it is because his themes are universal and they love reading reading what happens to the overly ambitious/greedy. Others believe that it is not possible one man can create so many amazing works from his modest education. Around 150 years after his death, people started questioning the legitimacy of Shakespeare’s works, claiming that he did not write his plays, instead pointing to other well-known playwrights of the time, such as Edward de Vere and Christopher Marlowe. Most of the people objecting to Shakespeare’s legitimacy claim that a person who had received a modest education like Shakespeare could not have written plays with the complexity that Shakespeare displayed. They also point out how little is known about his life other than his plays and a few records in churches and such. However, supporters of his works point out how many authors and playwrights of his time also had few records of their life and had modest educations.
